Nyamuk the vampire, pls leave us alone

Upon receiving an email from MrNuff this morning regarding Battling Aedes, me myself was stumble and had a deep thought on what had happened to my baby boy this one whole week.

He was bitten by nyamuk all over his body including his cute innocent face, hands, and also legs. Not one or two bites though, it was like nearly 10 bites.  My boy has a sensitive skin, so recovering process for anything bitten by insect will take a least 2 weeks. Seeing his face and other parts of his body got red spots like this wrench my heart. I have tried my best to protect him from mosquito bites (maybe not yet to the very best since  he still got bitten). Husband sprayed our room and living room every night before we went to sleep. In fact every time when we reach home from work (which usually at 7pm). We used electric 'ubat nyamuk' too in our bedroom to prevent the mosquito from flying happily in the room. But it seems not working at all!! Pissed off ok with all the nyamuk in KL!I don't have the heart to take pictures on my boy's red spots =(

I can't force my baby to sleep in kelambu anymore as he sleeps like an adult nowadays. pusing sana sini, kelambu won't fit him anymore by the way. Well, back to reading email from MrNuff this morning, I was scared this might happened to my baby, seeing the condition of all the nyamuk yang mengamuk tak ingat dunia cari darah manusia. They are real vampire! But go bites lembu ke kuda ke, not us human being.

I promised myself to do extra hard pre-caution in handling this situation. Would like to share some of steps we can take in preventing aedes from breeding and come near to us...;-

  1.  Remove all sources of stagnant water. This can deny any chance of aedes to breed.
  2. Use anti-mosquito valve
  3. Cover your toilet bowl if you are going for holiday
  4. Seal off floor and gully traps
  5. Add in sand granular insecticides into your needed stagnant water. remember to follow the guidelines.
  6. Turn over all storage containers like pail when not in use.
Apart from that, we can try to prevent mosquito bites by:-
  1. Wearing socks and long pants and long sleeve shirts when you go to sleep.
  2. Use mosquito repellent.
  3. Use mosquito coils or nets
  4. Use air-conditioned in your room -Not a green suggestion!
I found a good reference on prevention check-list here. Feel free to have a look at it.

While, here is few symptoms on dengue fever:-

Clinical symptoms of dengue during febrile phase:
• acute febrile (2-7 days)
• generalised body ache
• joints ache
• headache
• rashes
• retro-orbital pain
• sore throat, injected pharynx
• nausea, vomiting

While the warning signs:
• Abdominal pain
• persistent vomiting
• mucosal bleed
• lethargic, restlessness

Well, no matter how, before things become worst, I am gonna declare a war between me and nyamuk started now! (Should start earlier).

  1. Untuk elakkan denggi, nyamuk yang wajib dibanteras adalah nyamuk pada waktu siang hari, terutama pada pagi hari, sekitar jam 8-9am, dan senja, sekitar jam 5-8pm sebab nyamuk aedes paling banyak keluar time tu.. kalau boleh time tu banyakkan proses sembur ubat nyamuk @ pasang ubat nyamuk sbb time tu jugak nyamuk2 aedes betina suka bertelur dan besa kalau orang fogging pon time tu jugak sepatutnya dan kena dua hari berturut2..satu untuk matikan telur nyamuk dan satu lagi untuk matikan nyamuk betina.

ciri2 denggi demam panas , hari ketiga biasanya suhu turun balik tapi jaga2 ni tanda bahaya denggi. kalau dah macam ni cepat2 bawak pi jumpa dokter.

-sekitar ceramah yang saya bagi masa melawat rumah orang2 kampung. insyaAllah info ini betul. ingat2 lupa dah. hua3...
