Sweet Potatoes for babies

I have tried introducing Ilyaas with sweet potatoes when he was nearly 6 months, but it seems that the texture I made for him was not smooth enough at that time.

So, when Ilyaas is 7 months plus now, I tried again. Hope he will like it. I think, the taste is better now, sweet as the name.

There are several ways to prepare sweet potatoes for babies. We can either bake, boil/steam, or microwaving it. I chose to boil the sweet potatoes.

Boiling/Steaming Sweet Potatoes for Baby Food:
1. Peel sweet potatoes and cut into small chunks
2. Place chunks into a pan with just enough water to slightly cover potato
3. "Steam" boil until tender, be sure to check on the water level.
4. Reserve any left over water to use for thinning out the sweet potatoes if desired.

For other methods of cooking sweet potatoes, can refer here.

This is how it looks after been frozen.
The orange color is sweet potato puree, the brownish cube is anchovies baby porridge.

I'll put these beautiful colored cubes into freezer bag, label them with date and content, and throw them into freezer. Easy peasy, only take the amount you needed when serving.Details on handling frozen baby food in correct way can be found here.
